We are seeking to appoint a Business Manager to join us from March 2018. The successful candidate will be the College’s leading support staff professional and will work with the Principal and SLT to ensure the College meets its educational aims whilst enhancing the effectiveness of the College as a business, providing a safe and vibrant site and ensuring resource procurement and management shows value for money.

DSTC is a small, family-centred non-selective school with high aspirations, low average class sizes and great results. Your business management responsibilities will include Administration, Facilities, Finance, IT and Marketing as well as Health and Safety and all support services across the College. The successful candidate will be experienced, highly-skilled and professional and will be an associate member of the Senior Leadership Team with the ability to lead and advise strategically.

The successful candidate will have professional qualifications and/or School Business Manager experience. He or she will be experienced in budget management and leading and managing personnel and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As well as strong evidence of business management skills, we are also looking for a candidate who is positive, proactive and fair with an understanding of the sensitivity and discretion required in the role. You will recognise the importance of safeguarding, both in terms of our students and our staff.

Dartford Science and Technology College is a Good school where "pupils achieve well and thrive" and "all groups of pupils achieve well" (Ofsted March 2017). We have a clear vision for the future and have set a range of challenging targets. This is a high quality learning community for girls aged 11-18 with a mixed Sixth Form. Our ethos puts learning at the heart of everything we do.

DSTC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

It is an exciting time in our journey and all staff have the opportunity to drive meaningful change. We have a culture of high quality teaching underpinned by a belief that all lessons should challenge, support and inspire students to be intellectually curious and develop a lifelong passion for learning. We are aspirational for our students and promote engagement in learning across the school and teachers enjoy being able to teach in an environment which prioritises this.
