Lecturer in Business Studies and Economics 

Burnley Campus are seeking to appoint a part-time A Level Lecturer to cover maternity leave up to 31 July 2019 within the Business Studies and Economics curriculum area at their partner school, Thomas Whitham Sixth Form.  They will be able to deliver our Advanced Level courses as well as our enrichment and extra curricular programme.  A commitment to working with our 11-16 partner colleges in the local area is also expected from all our staff.  This position will be on a fixed term contract 4 days per week up to 31 July 2019.

We are looking for an experienced and well qualified teaching professional within the subject areas of Business Studies and Economics.

Thomas Whitham Sixth Form is situated on a co-located modern purpose built campus designed to meet the needs of our students.  The campus provides exciting opportunities for our students to achieve academic excellence and personal development goals.  The Sixth Form is a happy and thriving learning environment confirmed by an excellent Ofsted in March 2016, our outstanding exam results and Oxbridge successes.

About Thomas Whitham Sixth Form

Thomas Whitham is a non-denominational, co-educational sixth form facility in Burnley, Lancashire. As of the most recent inspection there were 411 students on the school roll, who are taught between the ages of 16-20. The school is named for a local figure who was awarded a Victoria Cross for heroic action during the First World War. The school is based alongside Barden Primary School, Hollygrove School, Reedley Hallows Nursery School and Neighbourhood Centre. The college is situated on the Burnley Campus, which delivers a wide range of extended services through community facilities including a sports hall, fitness suite, dance/drama studio, a faith centre and a cafe.
