About Braeside School
Braeside School is a selective, non-denominational all-through school with nursery and without sixth form situated in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. It is an independent school that is part of the Oak-Tree Group of Schools alongside three other privately owned schools. A much smaller than average size for a school of its type, the school will provide 211 places for nursery, primary and secondary school students between the ages of 3-16 when fully subscribed.
The school was founded in 1944 by Miss Marjory Wakefield due to a lack of independent school provision for girls in the area. A new building extension was purchased by the school in 1950, and it is still located across its two nearby Victorian buildings to this day. It joined the Oak-Tree group in 2015.
