Business Studies Teacher

St George Madrid is a fast growing, but young school within the St George´s Group of Schools in Spain and is located in a prime educational zone to the North of the capital. The school has recently merged its secondary and primary campuses onto a single site, with new purpose built facilities. The school has seen significant growth in recent years, with potential for more. The successful candidate will be an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner, preferably with experience of teaching Business Studies across the secondary phase, including (I)GCSE and A-Level/IB Diploma. We are in the process of  replacing our existing A-Level programme with an IB Diploma programme, so experience of teaching Business Management to IB Diploma would be an advantage. The successful candidate would also be expected to teach a second subject, preferably ICT at key stage three. As part of the secondary humanities team, the successful candidate would be expected to lead and assist with developing different aspects of the school´s humanities and business programmes. As an international school we expect all of our staff to commit to the life of the school, through our after-school programme and events and activities going on throughtout the year. A commitment to educating the whole child, emphasis on high levels of pastoral care and an inclusive approach to education will be of the utmost importance as we make the final appointment. As our students come to us from a range of different backgrounds and with varying needs, an interest in raising attainment across all ability levels is very important. Candidates will also need to demonstrate evidence of being a strong team player as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations, with a flexible approach to problem solving. We follow an adapted English National Curriculum across our primary and secondary schools, leading to examination at IGCSE and A-Level (IB Diploma from September 2019).
