Job overview

Term time only

TBAP Multi-Academy Trust includes eleven Academies delivering high quality Alternative and SEMH Provision across four London Boroughs, Cambridgeshire, Essex and the North-West of England. Additionally, we have a Teaching School Alliance that offers extensive CPD and research programmes at all levels. In September 2016, we opened an innovative new 16-19 Academic AP Free School, which provides an academic curriculum to enable learners to gain access to Higher Education. The Trust has an excellent reputation for providing high quality education and transforming the lives of children and young people and is proud to hold a silver award from Investors in People.

Courtyard AP Academy is a primary academy based in Fulham; it is small but a bright and energetic place to work. It was judged as Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in March 2015 and is recognised as one of TBAP’s Flagship provisions. Ofsted said, “Pupils make excellent progress which respects the high expectations all adults have for the pupils.” At Courtyard we support learners who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school and those with an Education, Health and Care Plan.

This is a unique opportunity to join a community of staff who are creating a high performing Trust which is positively changing the life chances for learners now and in the future.

We are looking for a Business Support Professional who shares our values of compassion, resilience and innovation and is committed to contributing in a positive way to the lives of our vulnerable learners.

As the Business Support Professional, you will complement the professional work of teachers and learning support professionals by taking responsibility for administrative functions under an agreed system of supervision, supported by direction from the Head of School and in line with TBAP policies and guidance. This involves reception duties, general administrative tasks, liaison with the Human Resource and Finance teams as well as other Trust Academies and service delivery teams.

About Ormiston Courtyard Academy

Ormiston Courtyard Academy supports up to 16 learners who experience difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. Eight of the places are for learners with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan and eight for learners who are either at risk of being permanently excluded or have been permanently excluded. The great majority of learners have a history of disruptive education in mainstream schools with frequent fixed term exclusions.

We follow the national curriculum and our learners have a range of extracurricular activities to enhance their learning. We pride ourselves on working within the Behaviour for Learning framework which enables learners to develop the skills they need to be engaged, motivated and successful. The framework is based on the relationship with self, others and curriculum, and promotes positive learning behaviours inside and outside the classroom.

We have highly trained and experienced staff who work effectively to provide a personalised curriculum which meets the needs of all our learners. Achievement, teaching and behaviour is outstanding and all our learners learn extremely well and make excellent progress. Ormiston Courtyard Academy works closely with primary schools so that wherever possible learners can return to mainstream school. We have a strong partnership with parents and carers to provide a safe, successful and enjoyable place where learners gain the skills and confidence for success.

Ormiston Courtyard Academy was rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, March 2015.
