Are you a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant who has been working within Special Schools & Pupil Referral Units?

ABC Teachers are looking for candidates with previous experience who are available to work various days to cover the supply needs of a number of SEND schools in Derbyshire. There is the opportunity for day to day work which can be flexible to your needs and longer term placements as well.

The schools we are partnered with deal with a range of special needs, such as Autism, Aspergers and ADHD, through to severe conditions and multiple learning difficulties. Some schools also have provision for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Behavioural Difficulties.

Due to the range of schools we work with, you must be comfortable dealing with challenging behaviour and be able to adapt to various special needs, remaining calm and empathetic throughout.

In order to be considered for interview you must be able to provide previous referenceable experience (within 2 years) of working with special needs children, ideally in a school setting. You must have excellent communication skills when speaking to teachers and other staff and will be able to remain calm and approachable while demonstrating a professional manor.

Experience in some forms of personal care would be desirable, as would Team Teach experience and Makaton training.
