Job overview

Cambridge Coordinator required for Vinschool school education system for academic year 2019-2020. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Curriculum development: 

  • Develop and implement Cambridge curricula and Cambridge action plans 
  • Implement the Cambridge stages, design the frameworks, teaching materials, and lesson plans templates. 
  • Compose and develop materials such as test bank, internal progression tests. 
  • Review and maintain an updated faculty curriculum reference library that will include professional periodicals, bulletins, books and other materials related to curriculum and instruction. 
  • Write and distribute high quality documents that provide faculty and parents important information about the both the School’s curriculum and instructional program. 
  • Work closely with principals, team leaders and individual teachers on strategies and planning designed to integrate curriculum and instruction. 
  • Supports Vice Principals/Principals on developing the annual curriculum improvement plan.
  • Oversee all aspects of the curriculum process, including development, vertical and horizontal mapping (using Rubicon Atlas), implementation and evaluation.
  • Work with Principals and faculty to integrate technology and other subjects into the curriculum.
  • View and develop consensus among the staff on the best design model for unit of study plans.
  • Explore and develop assessment policies and practices that emphasize diverse and multiple forms of assessment to address learning styles.
  • Assist faculty in designing criteria-based assessments that accurately measure if students are at, above or below grades level in achievement.
  • Administer the school-wide standardized testing program including interpreting results and establishing information procedures for parents, faculty and board.
  • Review and maintain an updated faculty curriculum reference library.
  • Work with Principals/Vice-Principals to facilitate the accreditation process in teaching and learning areas.
  • Chair curriculum committee for CIS accreditation. 

Teacher Training: 

  • Be in charge and responsible for the school-wide teacher training program that are aligned with Cambridge requirements 
  • Conduct training needs analysis and propose suitable training programs for teachers 
  • Participate in teacher training and monitoring the training quality 
  • Mentoring teachers as needed. 

Quality management 

  • Visit classrooms regularly in order to view close-hand the implementation of curriculum and the use of appropriate instructional strategies 
  • Assist in developing classroom teaching strategies that allow for the effective use of educational technology. 
  • Discuss with teachers, DOS, principals to discover and solve problems while implementing the program. 
  • Support and find solutions, answer enquiries concerning to Cambridge program. 
  • Make periodical reports to the program director and CEO about the teaching and learning quality and propose solutions (if any). 

Operation: 

  • Participate in developing the school academic action plans. 
  • Be responsible for Cambridge exams (Checkpoint Primary, Checkpoint Secondary, IGCSE, A level) 
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as might be assigned by the Program Director and CEO. 
  • Sub-teach as needed 

Desired Qualification: 

  • BA in Education and teaching certificate (Master’s Degree in Education preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in leadership position (Vice-Principal for Curriculum Development or equivalent), preferably in an international school.
  • Experience with/ knowledge of Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A levels.
