We aim to recruit an English Teacher who shares our vision of student-centred learning, framed within a progressive and flexible curriculum.

We are a collaborative and supportive team and aim to recruit a like-minded individual who would enjoy the opportunity to deliver subjects across all secondary key stages, with a focus on the English curriculum.  Always keen to broaden our offer, we welcome ideas for further curricula development.

We set high standards for teaching and learning and encourage our young people to maintain very good levels of attendance and engagement.

The successful candidate will

  • Be an outstanding practitioner, committed to the best possible outcomes for young people
  • Be passionate about influencing educational best practice and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a hospital setting
  • Be a flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated teacher who is able to support forward thinking change and respond quickly to the needs of each young person we teach
  • Take responsibility for the English curriculum as well as the pastoral care of a small tutor group supported by the Head of School.

Our focus is to appoint a resilient and confident teacher who can fully support the aims and ethos of the school and who is able to embrace our bespoke learning model.  This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from secondary mainstream, specialist education or community provision who are looking to move into a hospital specialist setting.

If you believe that you have relevant experience contact Head Teacher, Caren Hayes for an informal chat on 0161 716 1165 or 07825 798104.

Closing date is 28/05/2021, with interviews to be held week commencing 7th June.

At Priory Education we are proud of our reputation for delivering quality education and care services with positive outcomes for children and young people aged 5 to 25 who have experienced difficulties in their previous education placements.

Pennine House School is an independent co-educational day school for young people aged 12 to 18 with mental health challenges. Our students are all inpatients at Pennine House, which provides a CAMHS service across two wards for 22 children.

It is our intention that every student develops their courage, determination and skills as a learner, so they can re-engage confidently with their education on discharge. We liaise with mainstream schools and colleges; each young person has an individualised curriculum plan where progress is closely monitored.

Accreditation is framed in line with national benchmarks and encourages independent and group learning to foster self-belief and resilience. Safeguarding and supporting the young person’s individual needs are paramount to our ethos of recovery through supported and aspirational learning. Whilst in our care, young people have access to the full range of nationally accredited qualifications.
