About the role

We are seeking a Campus Minister to work as a member of a team that provides faith, spiritual and pastoral support to students.

The role is project-focused and designed to contribute to the religious life of the school community.  
The Campus Minister will seek to empower young people to utilise their gifts and talents and to live their faith in a variety of settings including school, parish, wider Church and local community.

The role holder acts with integrity, initiative and sound judgement to provide effective support to the above-mentioned College members and its community.  
They are supportive of the Catholic ethos of the College and the strategic vision of the Principal and College Leadership Team and willing to support the mission and ethos of Catholic Education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • willingness and commitment to support the mission and ethos of Catholic education
  • formal or informal experience in working with young people in a Christian context (e.g. formal experience may involve paid work with a registered youth organisation whereas informal experience may involve volunteer work with a local Parish youth group)
  • hold or be willing to successfully complete a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education (Campus Ministry) or equivalent as recognised by BCE (eg: 4 units at university level in Religious Education or Theology or Ministry or similar related field)

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Position tenure:  Continuing

Weeks worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 5 days/week (38 hours/week) Monday to Friday

Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 5 - $35.74 per hour

Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
