Smart Teachers is recruiting for a Care Assistant / Support Worker for an all-through SEN school based in Brent. The school caters for students with a range of needs including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful Care Assistant / Support Worker is to start ASAP on a temporary basis until July 2019 with a possibility of extending.

  • Will be supporting secondary students in KS2 with a range of needs including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Daily rate starting from £70 depending on experience 
  • Must be comfortable with personal care
  • Will need to assist in the hydrotherapy pool

In order to be considered for this role Care Assistant / Support Worker will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have recent classroom experience in the UK (minimum 6 weeks essential)
  • Previous experience with SEN, ASD, MLD, SLD or PMLD 
  • Have strong behaviour management skills
  • Have excellent communication skills as well as strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
