Sir John Thursby College is an oversubscribed 11-16 college. This year our students achieved the highest set of GCSE results in the college’s history. Due to internal promotion, we are now looking to appoint a highly organised and capable Career Development Co-ordinator.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to provide advice and guidance for pupils in relation to careers education and educational pathways. You must be able to communicate effectively with staff, students and parents and have the ability to foster good relationships with local employers to support the development of our young people. You should be able to work flexibly and on your own initiative to prioritise workloads to ensure effective work experience and work-related learning programmes are implemented to motivate pupils, raise achievement and enable students to raise their aspirations.
