The Post

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the role of Careers Adviser in this academically selective school.

Starting salary:  £18,322 actual (£32,700 FTE)

Hours:  Term Time plus 10 days to include a post-exam results service (August), all INSET days

Approximately 25 hours per week, to be organised by discussion with the successful candidate

The School

King Edward VI High School for Girls (KEHS) is one of the most successful girls’ schools in this country with outstanding academic results and a large programme of extra-curricular activity.  The school is an independent day school with over 600 girls aged 11-18 and is part of the King Edward VI Foundation, which has eight schools in Birmingham. It is situated on a beautiful 50 acre campus in Edgbaston, which it shares with King Edward’s School.  It is only three miles from Birmingham city centre and has excellent transport access by road and rail (the University train station is only a 10 minute walk).    

The Role

The Careers Adviser will be experienced, knowledgeable, proactive in keeping up to date, highly organised, forward-thinking and an effective communicator (with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies). 

As well as coordinating existing provision, it is expected that the successful candidate will continue the excellent progress of the current post holder in recommending improvements and developing provision of Careers Education for KEHS pupils. 

The Careers Adviser will work closely with the pastoral team. The Vice Principal (Pastoral) will be the line manager of the Careers Adviser.
