25 hours per week as follows:

Caretaker 1/Assistant Caretaker at 10 hours per week, 52 weeks per year;

Cleaner at 15 hours per week, 50.83 weeks per year

Pro-rata salary starting from £11,560 p.a.

College Central, as part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, is a ‘Good’ alternative provision school providing specialised education to young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). College Central has 3 sites across East Sussex, Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea.

We are looking to recruit for a Caretaker 1/Assistant Caretaker PLUS Cleaner, at our Hastings site, which is shared with New Horizons School, Tile Barn Road TN38. The main responsibility for the post is to provide an effective caretaking and cleaning service for the school, supporting the Site Manager/Principal.

The ideal candidate would have some cleaning experience and the ability to work unsupervised. Previous DIY experience and decorating skills would be an advantage. The caretaking responsibilities will also include site security locking/unlocking and securing the premises. This post requires a good degree of physically fitness as some grounds maintenance and general maintenance tasks are involved. The successful applicant will also be required to complete some Health and safety training and any other relevant training.

The contracted hours are Monday to Friday, 14.00pm to 19.00pm, during term time; you will be expected to work during the school holidays, with your hours and annual leave to be agreed by the Site Manager/Principal. This role may also require working in various buildings or school sites and therefore, the ideal candidate will need to have a degree of flexibility in their working hours and schedule, as well as the advantage of holding a full driving licence.
