Job overview

The Batt School is looking for a Caretaker/Cleaner to join the team at our large thriving primary school. The role is offered as a dual contract but can also be applied for a two single roles. The caretaker role is for 15-20 hours per week and can be worked flexibly (please see below). The cleaning role is for 10 hours per week (2 hours per day on week days) worked at either the beginning or end of the day.

Caretaker Role

The ideal candidate will have good maintenance skills and be able to carry out small repairs around the site. Larger projects will require liaison with contractors. Knowledge of Health and Safety would be advantageous but not essential as training will be part of the induction process. A rolling program of maintenance and decoration will be managed by the caretaker to ensure the condition of the school buildings is maintained to a high standard. Communication with the Senior Leadership Team will be key to this role to ensure all projects align with strategic development priorities.

The Caretaker role is Grade 5 post is offered as permanent role. It is part time (15-20 hours per week) and term time only (38 weeks per year). Hours are flexible. Additional work may be required during holiday periods, and would be agreed with the individual on an ad hoc basis.

Cleaning role

The cleaning requires a dedicated, reliable individual with a positive work ethic to work as a valuable member of the premises team.

The role is offered at Grade 1 and is a permanent, part time role of 10 hours per week, term time only.

The school is part of the Oxford Diocesan School’s Trust, a multi-academy trust consisting of 41 schools across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
