Whitefield Primary School is in north Luton with over 400 pupils. Our site has one main building and benefits from a large playing field in addition to hard surface play and a wildlife area. 

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic caretaker to help maintain our safe and inspiring school environment.

The position is for 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum. Hours of work will be split between the morning and afternoon, working alongside an apprentice, the cleaners and a shared premises manager. We are currently in the process of becoming an academy and will be joining a growing group of schools, giving the opportunity for training and shared good practice.

The responsibilities of the role will include,

· Opening and closing of the school

· Security of premises

· Heating and lighting

· Undertaking and some supervision of cleaning duties

· Keeping the premises in an excellent state of repair

The candidate should be reliable, flexible and have excellent interpersonal skills. Some knowledge and experience of DIY and maintenance would be advantageous.

Applicants for this public-facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.
