Hunsley Primary offers its pupils an excellent, child-centred education that helps them to develop as confident, lively thinkers with enquiring minds. Our ‘big questions’ and thematic investigations enable children to learn across the wider curriculum through discovery and observation, developing their ability to think imaginatively, mathematically and scientifically and find creative, problem-solving solutions.

Hunsley Primary is looking for an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person to work as a Caretaker. The role will also include some cleaning duties.

You will work as part of a team under the direction and supervision of the Head of Hunsley Primary, ensuring that the school premises and associated facilities are available for both educational and allied usage. Day-to-day duties will include the maintenance of premises, equipment and plant; cleaning duties, litter-picking; receipt and distribution of deliveries; security of the buildings and site including testing of alarms and fault reporting; movement of goods and equipment; setting up of facilities; grounds maintenance works; lettings; and ensuring the premises meet Health and Safety requirements.

Hunsley Primary opened in Melton, near Brough, in September 2015 as East Yorkshire’s first free school. Currently located on its own bespoke site as part of the South Hunsley School campus, the primary school is set to relocate in December 2018 to its brand new building on the Brough South development. Along with South Hunsley, Driffield and Malet Lambert schools, Hunsley Primary is led by The Education Alliance multi academy trust, benefiting also from being part of the Wolds Teaching School Alliance and Teacher Training group, putting professional development at the heart of our staff experience.

Completed application forms are to be received no later than 09.00am on 30 November 2018. Interviews are anticipated for 14 December 2018.

The Education Alliance is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required prior to appointment.

About Us

Hunsley Primary offers its pupils an excellent, child-centred education that helps them to develop as confident, lively thinkers with enquiring minds. Our ambitious curriculum is taught in distinct subject areas, with the children gaining strengths in the core subjects of English, maths and science, and equally developing knowledge and skills as, for example, historians, geographers and artists.

Hunsley Primary opened in Melton, near Brough, in September 2015 as East Yorkshire’s first free school. In 2018, we moved into our brand new, bespoke building on Bluebird Way, part of the Brough South development - the next step on an exciting journey. Along with South Hunsley, The Snaith School, Driffield School, Malet Lambert and North Cave CE Primary school, Hunsley Primary is led by The Education Alliance Multi Academy Trust, benefiting also from being part of the Wolds Teaching School Alliance and Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training, putting evidence-based practice, ethical leadership and professional development at the heart of our staff experience.

An inclusive, nurturing school with high aspiration for all its children, Hunsley Primary makes the most of its unique links with South Hunsley and its trust partners, including the Associate Research School provision, to offer an exciting experience for pupils on their learning journey from of 4 to 19 years old. Our team ethos is driven by collaboration, support and development for all and we thrive on professional dialogue about what works best to enable all our children to reach their goals.

Hunsley Primary has rapidly gained a reputation for high aspiration and excellence. Already oversubscribed, the school has been recognised for its commitment to high standards and our passion for learning, something our families also share. We are excited about the school’s future developments, including bringing new colleagues and children into the growing team. It’s a great time to join Hunsley Primary and help shape our development as a unique primary school.
