Casual Apprenticeship Assessor in Engineering and/or Process Operations

We are looking for Casual Assessors to join our staff team and support us with a caseload of Engineering apprentices. We have apprentices on Mechanical, Electrical and Mechatronics routes from a number of sectors including Food and Drink, the Energy Sector and Manufacturing. You will be able to provide work based and College based training and assessment to apprentices in Engineering / Process operations.

We are looking to cover approximately 37 hours per week and are looking for individual(s) who could take on some or all of the hours, which will be paid on a casual basis.

The Role:

• Provide support and assessment to candidates undertaking Engineering Apprenticeship Programmes and work place based provision

• Manage a caseload of learners to timely achieve their qualifications.

• Work with internal and external verifiers to assure the quality and standard of work provided by apprentices

• Effectively and efficiently undertaking the administrative tasks required by internal systems and external bodies

• Contribute to the development of programmes aimed at the Engineering sector

• Assessing in Engineering and/or Process Operations: plan, prepare and carry out assessment of apprentices, monitor, review and evaluate apprentice progress. 

• Keep accurate records of apprentices, apprentice reviews, assessments and give feedback to other departments, employers and stake holders as requested

• Contribute to the development of the Engineering and Process Operations and related curriculum area including supporting and advising curriculum staff in development of industry related learning materials, student assessments and intranet based resources.

The Person:

• Applicants who hold a Degree or HNC/D in Engineering / Process Operations will have a distinct advantage

• You will ideally hold an Assessor/Verifier qualification or be willing to work towards the qualification, as this will be a requirement for the role

• You will have recent successful experience in Engineering or Process Operations

• You will have awareness of relevant developments in the Engineering sector

• You must hold a clean driving licence and be willing and able to travel to undertake assessments.


Terms and Conditions:

This role is offered on a casual basis, allowing the post-holder to manage their apprenticeship visits to suit the hours they can work.

Salary: £14.28 to £15.99 per hour dependent on experience

Hours: Variable
