Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College. 


The successful candidate will work with the team initially for a 3-week period to support the delivery and operation of testing for asymptomatic individuals.  You will be providing advice and support to staff and students attending the site for testing. Full training for the role will be provided.


There are opportunities at both our Accrington & Rossendale College and Nelson & Colne College campus and various hours are available for those who can make a substantial commitment in hours. Please can you state in the personal statement what hours you are available and your preference for the Nelson or Accrington site. 


Main duties include:

• Provide an effective and responsive service ensuring excellent customer service in every interaction.

• Provide registration welcome and ensure that people do not have any symptoms of Covid-19 on arrival by asking about symptoms and taking temperature

• Supervise, guide and encourage individuals to undertake a self-administered COVID19 test by providing correct instruction

• Adhere to the strict guidelines and procedures required  

• Deep cleaning areas if required including disposal of PPE, test kits and medical waste appropriately



The ideal candidate will:

• Have an understanding of Covid 19 guidelines

• Be able to undertake appropriate training required for the role

• Ability to work under pressure 

• Be highly organised and be able to work effectively as part of a team

• Have experience of working with the public and/ or young people

• Be aged 18 years or above

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms.
