The Role:

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join The Colne Community School and College team, helping us create healthy, tasty food within budget for our students


This post is 17.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only) - Actual Salary from: £7,147

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • The preparation and simple cooking of food & beverages.
  • Serving customers at the counter/hatch or from a trolley or kiosk as required.
  • To undertake all aspects of cleaning equipment (light and heavy), walls (up to 6ft.) floors, fixtures and fittings, cooking utensils, cutlery, glassware etc. as directed.
  • During service times, to ensure that tables and counters are as clean as reasonably practicable and adequately stocked.
  • To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations.

We're looking for you if you have:

  • Ideally, experience of catering within a school, however, training can be provided
  • Experience of serving customers.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • High expectations with regard to standards of cleanliness and health and safety within the kitchen.
