Career Opportunities

Several new opportunities exist for committed people to join a forward looking school and a dynamic community, to promote our drive for healthy eating in support of the school’s focus on Health Related Fitness. This offers the chance to work alongside the Head of Catering who aims to be inventive with menus, building and promoting a new team and a high calibre catering operation. Initially part time 10-30 hours per week with flexible working patterns.

You will be involved with all areas of school catering to work in line with the food service and food quality expected and set up by the Head of Catering at Coombe Wood School; to help deliver high standards to both students and staff to deliver taste, freshness, value for money and variety. You will join our catering team which will comprise five friendly, ambitious, hard-working assistants.

Coombe Wood School, one of four schools in Folio Education Trust opens this September with 180 Y7 students. The new Head and staff team have been appointed, many of the latter taking up their roles in September, and all will work in the new temporary buildings near Lloyd Park. Your role will predominantly be based at Coombe Wood School to ensure delivery of excellent food to the new Coombe Wood community. In the first term the hours will be flexible while the demands of the food service provision are established, with a review to set structured contracts for Jan 2019.

Cheerful, hard working applicants who can demonstrate flexibility, be resilient, thrive on variety and enjoy a challenge will be welcomed to the team at Coombe Wood School! Our Catering Assistants will need to communicate well, demonstrate some IT skills and grasp the concept of value for money. Food Hygiene, safety or First Aid qualifications would be an advantage, but not essential as necessary training will be arranged. If you have a keen interest in food and work with calm efficiency, then please apply through the application process outlined below.
