Job Description
We wish to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Manager to work within our school catering service. This post will primarily be based at The Rydal Academy but the successful candidate may, on occasion, be asked to work at other schools within our Multi Academy Trust.
Duties will include the day to day management of catering staff, preparation of school meals and menus ensuring that a high standard of food hygiene/handling and safe working practices are used.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and be able to successfully manage the school meal service within an allocated budget. The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, good time management, and the ability to be flexible and creative.
To apply you must have an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Catering, at least one years' experience in a catering role, previous supervisory experience in a catering environment and the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. A Level 3 Food Safety Certificate and being Craft trained in Professional Cookery would be desirable.

The Rydal Academy is a large and vibrant primary school for pupils aged 3 to 11. The school provides nursery education for children from their third birthday and is structured in three classes per year group for Reception through to Year 6.
The school is housed in an expansive building with a bright, purposeful learning environment. The school benefits from extensive grounds, including a multi-use games area, nature garden, allotment, four Early Years outdoor learning areas, field, outdoor classroom and two playgrounds.
The school provides an extensive and free extra-curricular and extended curriculum offer as well as free wraparound childcare from 7:30am until 6pm.
