A key role of the academy’s Catering Team, the successful applicant is required to lead, develop and manage all areas of the in-house catering operation of the academy, delivering the highest standard of food & beverage provision and customer service within the academy’s budgetary requirement for meals provision.

The post holder, line managed by the Business Manager, will have strong staff management skills, responsible for leading and managing a team of staff including Cook (2nd), 4 Catering Assistants and 3 Lunchtime Supervisors, ensuring staff are used efficiently and effectively throughout service thus providing a first class meals provision. 

The Catering Manager will have a proven track record of strong staff management skills, cooking for large numbers of people within limited timescales, excellent understanding of nutritional standards, knowledge and understanding of food allergens and hold the relevant qualifications required essential to the role. 

The catering team currently provides healthy, nutritional meals for over 600 students at break and lunchtime sitting however, these number are expected to rise as the maximum capacity for site is 950 students. An early breakfast club is also provided by the Catering Team as well as all hospitality requirements for the academy including buffet provision. Therefore, the ability to work flexibly is required to ensure academy events/functions are staffed after Academy hours i.e. Open Evenings, Local Governing Body meetings, Multi Academy Trust Meetings.
