Centre Lead - Centre for Excellence in Maths (Fixed Term)

The person appointed will lead the Centre for Excellence in Maths ensuring that it delivers against an action plan and a set of agreed performance criteria validated by the Education Training Foundation (ETF) and Department of Education. Working with a network of 15 further education providers the postholder will develop and co-ordinate research, CPD and best practice in teaching maths to students with low prior attainment.

The role will be responsible for driving innovation and improvement within the Weston College maths delivery team and project manage wider initiatives driven by the Centre for Excellence programme including national research trials and improvement methodologies such as the Whole College Approach.

The role will be based within the English and maths directorate at the College but report to the Deputy Principal for Curriculum, Quality and Student Experience. The person appointed will be part of the senior management team at the college. 

The successful postholder will qualified to level 5 or above in maths or a maths related subject and hold a full teaching qualification. They will have successful teaching experience within maths and detailed knowledge of maths pedagogy. Experience of managing projects and building effective external partnerships are other key attributes necessary for the role.
