Applications are invited for the post of Chef at The Royal Masonic School for Girls. RMS is an independent, day and boarding school with a supportive and nurturing ethos. The School provides an exceptionally favourable working environment, with keen students and stunning surroundings. 

Reporting to the Head Chef, this is an important role working as part of a busy team to deliver a high standard of food for pupils. The team provide up to 1100 lunches five days per week, with breakfast and an evening meal required for our boarding community of 80+ over seven days.

A main duty for this post holder will be to produce healthy, balanced break time options daily for the main senior and prep schools including options to cover any dietary requirements as well as assisting the chef team with the lunchtime service.

In addition to catering for pupils, the department caters for a wide range of both school and external events ranging from working lunches and fork buffets to formal four course meals for up to 350 guests, which you will also be expected to assist with as required. 

You will be working in the Catering Department for 40 hours per week on a term time contract. An additional two weeks per year will be worked to cover residential commitments and private events during the holidays by mutual agreement and paid separately. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday with occasional weekends worked on a 5 weekly rota basis. Shifts worked are normally 6.30am-3pm or 8.00am-4.30pm.
