We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking Chef to join our active and vibrant team.
Ardingly College is no ordinary school. As well as core meals made for the students and staff, you will be given plenty of opportunities to create dishes for fine dining events, from 10 people to 400 people. The College also runs themed days and events which give our Chefs the opportunity to showcase their creative flair and be involved in learning new cooking techniques to create authentic dishes.
The catering department is award winning and always maintains its 5 out of 5 for scores on the doors.
The post holder will assist in the creation of new dishes and the production and service of food, while maintaining correct levels of Food Safety and Health and Safety. The ability to be innovative and creative in your cooking is key for this role.
Previous experience of working in a busy kitchen, producing meals with fresh ingredients is essential. A CIEH Food Safety Level 2 certificate or equivalent and 706/1, 706/2 or NVQ 2 Chef qualifications are required.
The hours for this role are 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, for 52 weeks per year. Shifts are 8.5 hours working 6.30am-3pm or 10.30am-7pm on a rota basis. Flexibility to work major functions is also required.
The salary is £22,942 per annum.
