OIS is a highly prestigious private, inclusive, co-educational international day school (Year 2 – Year 13) situated in a beautiful 17th Century Portuguese Palace in a very peaceful and attractive “Quinta” in the surroundings of Oeiras, close to Lisbon. The school enjoys accreditation with NEASC and is a CIS member school.

OIS offers the International Baccalaureate Continuum beginning with Year 2 of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), to the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and culminates in Year 13 with the Diploma Programme (DP). We have a predominately international student population representing over 40 nationalities. There are currently 453 students on roll.

WE ARE SEEKING AN EXCELLENT CHEMISTRY (IBDP) AND GENERAL SCIENCE (MYP) TEACHER

We require a versatile, capable and enthusiastic Chemistry (IBDP) and General Science (MYP) teacher to start on 22nd August 2023. Candidates with previous experience in an international school setting with IB experience will have a distinct advantage. The salary is calculated using OIS's pay scale to ensure fair pay. 

A competitive renewable two-year contract package for staff includes*: 

• Economy class flight upon commencement and end of last contract for teacher and dependents with an additional baggage allowance (up to a defined amount)

• Hotel allowance for the first two weeks while accommodation is found (daily rate set)

• Accommodation allowance for the first five years of the contract 

• Private medical insurance 

• Heavily subsidised tuition scholarship for up to two dependent children  

• Lunch allowance

*Staff hired locally will have a renewable one-year contract and will not receive flight, hotel or accommodation allowance.

Set in beautiful, rural surroundings, in the suburbs of Lisbon and partly housed in a 17th Century palace, Oeiras International School (OIS) is a non-profit IB World School for students aged 11 to 19.
