Cranleigh School wishes to appoint a strong Chemistry honours graduate to assist with the day-to-day running, of the needs of the Chemistry Department, particularly with regard to lessons and practicals. 

This post would equally suit someone who is looking to start a career in the subject, or someone who already has some experience in the profession. 

The main aim of the role is to ensure provision of materials for use in teaching, both for practicals and demonstrations whilst ensuring that the safety recommendations of CLEAPPS and school safety policy are followed. 

You will also assist in the preparation of equipment and materials for lessons, maintain stock and undertake general administration tasks including records of orders, invoices and expenditure. 

Candidates should be IT literate with MS office (Word and Excel).  

The Technician will work closely with the Head of Chemistry and be supported by the other teachers in the department.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant science/technical qualification or possess equivalent relevant experience. With a demonstrable knowledge of Chemistry, you should be confident working with lab equipment and able to assist with experiments as required.
