The Latymer School is a high achieving, but caring grammar school in North London. Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere and the level of participation in extra-curricular activities. Pupils at the school recently described the school as one “family” and it being a “real community”. We are very proud of our school and believe it is a place where you can really teach and develop. We were named in the top 10 performing schools in London by The Independent Newspaper.
We are seeking to appoint, commencing September 2018, a Chemistry Teacher. We are looking for someone who would enjoy working with highly motivated, intellectually curious students at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
The Science Department works as a close-knit group, sharing resources and strategies across the year groups taught at the school. As you would expect, Chemistry is a popular option at GCSE and A Level, with most years attracting 170 students to study Chemistry at KS5.
The department’s exam results are outstanding at both GCSE and at ‘A’ level, our latest results being 45%A* and 83% A*/A at GCSE and 16% A*, 53% A*/A and 80% A*/B at A2.
If you would like to work in a friendly environment, with guaranteed A-level teaching, then we would like to hear from you.
Closing date for application: 10am on Tuesday, 5th June 2018
The Latymer School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory ‘Enhanced with a Barred List Check’ through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
