The College is committed to the improvement of education through the support of teacher development and recognition of excellence in teaching. It will be led by teachers, enabling the teaching profession to take responsibility for its professional destiny, set its own aspirational standards and help teachers to use research and evidence to improve outcomes for learners.

Working with the Trustees, the Chief Executive will develop the College’s strategic, business and operating plans and lead the development and implementation of the infrastructure to deliver those plans. The Chief Executive will also lead on advocacy for members and the teaching profession and act as the face and voice of the College with the teaching profession, stakeholders and across all media.

Candidates for this role will have a successful track record in a senior leadership role in education or professional bodies/membership organisations and experience of leading service/product development. They will have a strong understanding of the schools’ sector, proven advocacy experience and the ability to influence and inspire at the highest levels.
