This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the development of the newly forming HEART Academies Trust.

The HEART Academies Trust will be created from four founding schools; Bedford Academy, Cauldwell School, Shackleton Primary School and Shortstown Primary School. All four schools within the Trust are successful and have strong and positive relationships with the students and communities they serve.

The core aim of the new partnership will be to create a family of academies which are at the heart of their community, delivering great education and improving life chances for all. We will ensure that all children and young people receive high quality teaching every lesson, every day.

The HEART Academies Trust will be sponsored by The Harpur Trust. The Harpur Trust is one of the largest charities in the UK and all its activities are associated with the Borough of Bedford. One of the aims of the trust is to provide and promote education locally, to inspire and support the people of the Bedford Borough in improving their lives.

The Board of Trustees is looking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to lead the formation of the Trust and deliver its vision, values and strategy. The CEO will lead the central team and the Head Teachers of the four schools, and will be responsible for the operational management of the Trust, in relation to both academic and financial performance. The successful candidate will possess proven leadership skills in educational terms, demonstrable experience of successfully managing complex organisational change in schools, and the ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
