The Blackpool Multi Academy Trust is a small group of schools comprising of 1 Special School (2 – 19), and 3 mainstream Primary Schools (4 – 11 years). These schools provide education for 1224 pupils.

The Trust has been in existence since 2013 following a request from the Local Authority; three schools formed the trust with a fourth allocated as sponsored school. In 2017 the trust was reconstituted, and the previous board was replaced by a new board of trustees in order to provide clarity of responsibility and delegation. The trustees bring a range of experience to the board and all give their time freely.

The Chief Executive Officer position will be critical in shaping and developing Blackpool MAT.  This presents a unique opportunity for somebody that shares our values and beliefs to join our team at a very exciting time. You will report to and work alongside the Trust Board, with responsibility for leading and managing all aspects of finance and business management, as well as contributing to the overall strategic direction of the Blackpool MAT.

With responsibility for strategic leadership and management you will be required to lead the ongoing development of Blackpool MAT to provide high quality, inclusive education across all its academies in a cost-effective manner.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and knowledgeable school leader with ambition and drive, who shares the MAT’s passion for improving the lives of students. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification, will have experience of the academy sector and be commercially astute.

This will be a challenging environment, so strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels are essential.
