Job overview

The British Dyslexia Association (B.D.A.) is the leading Charity for Dyslexia in the UK. It is a professional body, accrediting specialist courses, assessors and teachers. The go to place for sound information, with policy development, projects and the National Helpline. Our services include assessment, training, conferences, and publications relating to all age groups.

We are seeking a new C.E.O., who will have the opportunity for an overlap induction with our current C.E.O. who, sadly for us, is retiring in the early Spring. A lot of work has been done over the last decade to develop effective trading streams and we are in sound financial health, with more than policy level reserves. It is an exciting time for a new C.E.O. to develop further our reach, impact and influence from this stable base. There are many opportunities for us.

We are looking for someone with similar values, sound organisational and financial management experience. A high level of expertise in dyslexia is preferred. We think the post may appeal to those running an entity within a Charity, SEN commissioners, Educational Psychologists, Headteachers with an interest in SEN, or other senior managers in educational settings, learning support and dyslexia experts. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in this field.
