CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Required for September 2020

Salary in excess of £100,000

The Aspire Learning Trust is a young and successful Multi-Academy Trust based in the market town of Whittlesey, north Cambridgeshire. We are a cross-phase Trust comprised of Sir Harry Smith Community College (Secondary), Park Lane Primary and Nursery School and New Road Primary School, all Whittlesey schools.

Our current CEO is retiring at the end of August 2020 and therefore Aspire Learning Trust Board of Trustees are seeking to appoint a successor to lead our Trust through its next stages of development.

Our vision is simple, Aspire Learning Trust strives to provide outstanding all-round education and care for the children in our community, from nursery through to Sixth Form. Our schools work together to help children achieve their full potential, to prepare them for their next educational steps, to teach them kindness and respect for all and to equip them to play a full and satisfying role in society.

As a Trust, we want every young person to experience great teaching, so we place the highest value on  developing colleagues at all levels. We have made good progress since our formation, but there are still some rewarding leadership challenges to face. We want to see each of our schools rated as Outstanding, we want the Trust to grow to include all of our local schools and to improve the cohesiveness of the Trust’s family of schools and staff.

The CEO reports to, and is supported by, a committed group of Trustees who work with the Local Governing Bodies.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who shares our vision. If you have the skills, experience and abilities to become the new CEO of our Trust, then we would very much welcome your application.

If you would like an information pack, please visit our website     www.aspirelearningtrust-cambs.co.uk  or alternatively contact Angela Shaw on 01733 703991. Visits to the Trust to meet with the current CEO, Jonathan Digby, prior to the application deadline are welcomed. Please contact Clair Meadows on 01733 703991 to arrange a date and time.

Application deadline is noon, Thursday 9th January 2020.  Please send completed application forms, together with a short letter of introduction, no longer than two sides of A4 addressing the following question:

‘Aspire Learning Trust is a small, successful and ambitious cross-phase Trust.  What lies ahead for us under your leadership?’

Please send these to:  applications@sirharrysmith.cambs.sch.uk    All applications received will be acknowledged by email.

Shortlisting will take place on Friday 17th January 2020 with the formal interviews taking place on Thursday 30th January and Friday 31st January 2020.

Applicants are thanked for their interest in the Aspire Learning Trust and all applicants will be contacted after shortlisting.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all  staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will require a cleared                          Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
