Chief Executive Officer

The Synergy Trust is a rural Multi Academy Trust in Norfolk with a strong record of school improvement. The Trust is committed to excellence in education and wellbeing, and to uncompromising professionalism in everything we do. Our pupils, students and staff are at the heart of the organisation. 
Our current Chief Executive Officer is retiring in August and we are seeking an exceptional candidate to take forward and develop our strategic plans, working closely with the Directors. The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader who is able to take up the vision, ethos and values of the Trust and will empower others to do the same. You will have the capability and drive to deliver both our ambitious educational and well-being outcomes for our pupils and our forward-thinking business development goals. The Trust has invested in strong leadership within our academies and is putting in place a central services function, which will deliver core services efficiently and effectively to realise significant economies of scale.

We have grown rapidly in the last two years and while a period of consolidation may be appropriate, opportunities to expand will be continue to be sought.  Key to this is maintaining and developing effective communication with our strategic partners.

You will take on the role of Accounting Officer and with the CFO will review and approve all budgets for our academies, ensuring the Trust’s long-term sustainability.

You will work closely with the Directors in their strategic role and will be able to turn the Trust’s strategic ambitions into operational delivery plans, working alongside each Academy’s leadership team and Local Governing Body.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and be able to engage with our young people from early years to 18. You will motivate and energise our talented staff to deliver the Trust’s vision and goals. You will be highly accomplished at developing professional networks, with the ability to work effectively with other senior executives in education, or business, as well as senior officials in education and government.
