Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead our collaborative family of schools through the next phase of its development.

CfBT Schools Trust is a multi-academy trust of 11 primary and 5 secondary academies and free schools across the East Midlands and Thames Valley, and includes the Lincolnshire-based Kyra Teaching School Alliance. Our sponsor is Education Development Trust, an international education charity that transforms lives by improving education around the world.

Our vision is to transform lives by improving education. We want every child and young person to become a confident learner, understanding the contribution they can make as global citizens and living lives that make a positive difference. We do this by inspiring, challenging and supporting our leaders and teachers to make every lesson count.

The new Chief Executive Officer, working with the Board of Trustees, executive team and school leaders, will build a strategy that focuses on improving our schools and the outcomes for all children and delivers sustainable growth based on a hub strategy. As well as leading the Trust, the Chief Executive will be a member of the Education Development Trust leadership team to help facilitate the transfer of our sponsor’s unique strengths into our schools.

You will bring strong leadership experience in a group of schools and/or a multi-academy trust, experience of successful school improvement in a challenging environment and a track record of leading teams in a collaborative way while driving performance for excellence. You will be a strategic thinker who brings drive, energy and commitment to lead the vision for the Trust and improve school performance. You will have the credibility to win the respect of headteachers, attract new leaders to the Trust’s schools and bring new schools into the Trust.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing Trust sponsored by a global education charity focused on transforming lives by improving schools and school systems.
