Job overview

If you’re passionate about education, this could be a career-defining opportunity

Who we are

The Galileo Multi Academy Trust was established in 2018 as a not-for-profit education charity.  A North East-based Trust, we sponsor ten primary academies across the Redcar & Cleveland area including two Church of England schools within the Diocese of York.  We employ around 320 staff with responsibility for 3,200 pupils.

Our academies, which are good and outstanding, are located in some of the most deprived communities in England, which means that if you’re passionate about ensuring each child has access to a great education, this could be a career-defining opportunity.

The role

We require an ambitious and dynamic CEO to bring about and sustain positive change while building on the Trust’s foundations and further developing its many strengths with sound, effective governance and transformational educational outcomes.

You will be someone who can steer us through the next stage of our growth and development, which will see you setting the overall strategic direction of the Trust and ensuring our vision is communicated to staff, pupils, parents/carers and the community alike.

Reporting to the Trust Board, you will be expected to work to key priorities to fulfil our vision, ethos and values, providing leadership and inspiration to the central team and encouraging all our schools to see themselves as part of a shared identity.

The person

You will be passionate about education and committed to making a difference.  You should be able to demonstrate significant experience in strategic leadership and school improvement with many successful outcomes against ambitious goals to your credit.

With responsibility for the Trust’s financial health, you will need to create a culture of continuous improvement, implementing effective systems and displaying high professional standards.   Also accountable for school improvement and the academic performance of all schools within the Trust, you will need to be flexible, adapt easily to change and possess strong interpersonal skills.

As a confident person, you will feel entirely at home operating within a collaborative setting, thrive on inspiring confidence in your team and have the capacity to optimise the collective talents of a complex stakeholder group.

The package

In return, we will offer our full support, the chance to work for an ambitious trust which is keen to achieve a positive regional and national reputation, plus the opportunity to continue developing your professional skills and abilities.

We are offering a salary of £120k, an absolute commitment to investing in your continuing professional development and a Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
