Job overview

Learning Today Leading Tomorrow (LT2) is a multi academy trust headquartered in Rugby, Warwickshire. Founded in 2014, we opened Rugby Free Primary School in September 2015 and Rugby Free Secondary School in September 2016. Both schools were proposed and established to meet the growing need for high quality school places in the town. We are currently awaiting the outcome of further free school applications to the Department for Education and have a clear plan for further sustainable, strategic growth.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational leader to lead the organisation through the next phase of its development. You will be the first Chief Executive of LT2 and will have a career-defining opportunity to build from the solid foundations laid by a fully-engaged and supportive Board. Managing the myriad demands of a growing Trust will demand the best of your strategic thinking skills and operational leadership capabilities, and our growing schools will test your ability to understand and support front line operations.

As the public face of our organisation, we expect that you will:

  • bring outstanding visionary leadership and a deep understanding of the education sector
  • have an empathy and understanding of the challenges of leading academy trusts and an excitement about and commitment towards the benefits they can bring
  • be equally adept at discussing policy with senior DfE officials and chatting with parents at the school gate
  • bring clarity of thought and creativity to apply to our growth plans and school improvement priorities
  • You will be an inspirational leader to staff, students and stakeholders and quickly form a strong senior team that realises the benefits of an ‘all through’ academy trust. Most of all, you will share the commitment and passion of Trustees, Headteachers and staff who recognise the privilege they have in being able to grow and shape new education provision for children and young people free from any legacy issues.

Rugby is less than an hour by direct train from central London and already boasts some of the best and most prestigious schools in the country. Join us so that we can join them.

Informal enquires are welcomed by David Johnson, Chair of Trustees. Please email ceo@learningleading.org to arrange a convenient time to speak

Closing date for applications: 12.00 noon on Friday 31st March 2017.
Interviews will be held in Rugby during the week beginning Tuesday 18th April 2017.

Learning Today Leading Tomorrow is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
