We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Finance Officer, who will be highly visible and a credible leader, working to support the Trust Board and CEO through the successful delivery of finance objectives on an annual and strategic basis:

  • The role is a key part of the Trust, holding responsibility for the leadership & development of the Trust’s finance functions.
  • The role contributes to organisational strategy and policy development in order to support the Trust’s vision of ‘Children First’ and is responsible for the implementation of all processes and practices in finance.
  • This role has a specific focus on ensuring that centralised services run in a highly competent and effective manner across the Trust’s academies.

We are a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with two academies: Priestmead Primary School and The Welldon Park Academy. The Trust is centred around Children First. What are we looking for? 'The Person'

You must be a committed professional ~ innovative, reliable and enthusiastic individual with an excellent work ethos and values. You must have:

  •  A relevant accountancy competent financial qualification (ACA, ACVCA, CIMA, CIPFA L7)
  • An analytical thinker with a business and commercial acumen, team spirited, resilience and positive energy.
  • Educational understanding with strength of character, demonstrated through ethical leadership, transparent fairness and integrity.
  • Senior level experience in setting, delivering and embedding change programmes strategy.
  • Experience in implementing operational processes and controls
  • Financial planning and budget management
  • Excellent understanding of PAYE and VAT returns
  • Knowledge of funding, regulatory and legislative environment of academies and MATS
  • Significant experience o successful leadership at senior level
