Job overview

Trustees wish to recruit an outstanding Chief Financial Officer to work closely with the Executive Principal and Trust Executive Team in ensuring the Trust’s excellent financial position is maintained and enhanced, for the benefit of the young people in our care.  We are passionate about making that vital difference to the lives of young people in our school and their families. 

As a key member of the Trust Executive Team, the Chief Financial Officer will contribute to strategy and policy development to support the Trust’s aims and objectives, will ensure the provision of management information for academy planning and monitoring systems, and will ensure the completion of key financial and statistical returns to external agencies.

The successful candidate will hold a professional finance or finance related qualification at graduate level (i.e. AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) and be willing to continue with their professional development.  With strong leadership strengths, self-motivated and highly capable, you will be expected to be a good team player, a highly effective communicator, with great attention to detail and strong IT skills. 

Anticipated start date is March 2022 or earlier. Initially this will be a part-time post of 22.5 hours. Flexible working hours and a term time only work pattern will be positively considered for the right appointment. 

Central England Academy Trust (CEAT) has two oversubscribed special schools and manage an educational provision within a local NHS hospital. This new post is key to support Trust growth in line with the DfE academy agenda. CEAT will offer the successful candidate membership of the Trust Executive Team and support and training to further develop their professional practice.
