Job overview

Academy Transformation Trust requires a bright qualified accountant with experience at executive level to fill a crucial position as Chief Financial Officer. The post-holder will report into the Chief Executive, leading the finance function for a £75m turnover organisation.

Details about the Client

Academy Transformation Trust was founded in 2012 with a clear ethos and set of values. It now manages 25 schools and is one of the 20 largest multi-academy trusts in the UK. The Trust is forward looking and focused on providing the best possible outcomes for pupils, by improving the quality of education and ensuring that resources are used as efficiently as possible.

Detailed Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer role is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference and play an integral part in the continued growth of a successful trust. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Further developing the finance function to ensure it is operating as effectively and efficiently as possible
  • Ensuring that both the organisation and individual academies are being financially efficient
  • Managing the reserves and the Trust's cash flow
  • Providing financial support and insight into bids to win funding
  • Developing and delivering the Trust's strategy
  • Asking questions to ensure that the right decisions are being made across the organisation
  • Ensuring that effective controls and processes are in place
  • Managing the rebrokering of academies
  • Management of finance, procurement and ICT

Candidate's Profile

You must have a track record in the education sector though, ideally, you will also have private sector experience. You will be a problem solver who can look forward, foresee challenges and pro-actively come up with effective solutions. The culture of the organisation suits people who, whilst capable of thinking strategically, will also be willing, when necessary, to roll their sleeves up and get stuck into the detail. Critically you will have a warm, engaging personality and a real empathy with the goals of Academy Transformation Trust.

This is an executive level role that offers the chance to play a key role in the future development of Academy Transformation Trust.

The Trust welcomes applications from those looking to take the next step.

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents. All third party applications will be forwarded to Michael Page.
