Job overview

Trinity Multi-Academy Trust is a forward thinking, vibrant and rapidly growing trust and our people are key to our continued growth and success. We currently have a vacancy for a Chief Operating Officer, to provide strategic and operational leadership for shared support services across the trust.

We are a Diocesan multi academy trust, committed to working within a respectful and compassionate environment. Our CEO is a National Leader of Education and our flagship academy; Trinity Academy Halifax is designated as a National Support School through its work in improving other schools.

Along with primary, secondary and post 16 academy and colleges in the trust, the trust hosts the Trinity Teaching School Alliance (led by Trinity Academy Halifax). In addition, the academy also gained Maths Hub status, one of just 35 schools in the country to be given this accolade. These initiatives benefit the staff across our family of schools by providing specialist support from some of the best practitioners and leaders, regardless of location.

As an expanding trust, we require an experienced leader, who will be part of the executive team, to lead the development and implementation of a range of support functions across the trust.  The successful candidate will have a track record of strategic leadership and will lead change, transformational management and develop services that deliver efficient and effective support to our academies.  With experience in contract management, procurement and line management the COO will establish cost savings and provide advice and recommendations to leadership teams on how trust assets and resources can be maximised to provide best value.  Having worked in a similar role, and understanding of the education sector will be an advantage, although not essential.

Potential candidates are welcome to discuss the role with the CEO, please contact us on recruitment@trinitymat.org to arrange a telephone appointment.

This is new executive level role in our trust and candidates must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to children and young people in our academies, secure in the knowledge that you will be key in the long term development of an ambitious and forward-thinking Academy Trust.

Trinity Multi Academy Trust is a Diocesan multi academy trust that is open to schools of all faiths and none. The trust is committed to working within a respectful and compassionate environment and exists to serve the students in its care. We encourage all schools within the trust to celebrate their distinctive identity, whilst actively supporting each other to share best practice and their commitment to continual improvement.

In 2010, when Trinity Academy Halifax (TAH) opened in Calderdale, the plan was to address a decade of underperformance at secondary school level. Since then the academy has been rated as ‘outstanding’ twice. It has also established Trinity Institute of Education (formerly Trinity Teaching School Alliance) and the West Yorkshire Maths Hub, both of which have helped to raise pupil performance in hundreds of schools across the country.

In 2015 Trinity MAT was established. It now contains ten academies covering from nursery stage through to post-16, including two brand new secondary schools which opened in September 2021. The MAT has seen numerous educational changes but one thing has remained constant; we know what works, and so we have formed a group of like-minded schools to make a positive difference on a wider scale.

Our people are key to our continued growth and success. There is a relentless focus on improving standards for all children and young people in our care.  Working within the trust gives all staff the opportunity to work with some of the best practitioners and leaders, regardless of your location.

Our improvement strategies are based on clear systems and support, from our outstanding behaviour systems to regular teacher led CPD sessions, the trust recognises the value of empowering staff through quality weekly CPD, training and support. At the heart of our people strategies are the opportunities for staff at all levels to develop and progress their career.
