Harris City Academy Crystal Palace is a mixed academy for 1,300 students aged 11-18. The academy has three consecutive outstanding judgments by Ofsted, with the most recent inspection in 2014 finding the academy to be outstanding in every aspect. This thriving academy also has a large sixth form with over 300 students. It is one of the most oversubscribed comprehensive schools in the country and in the top 5% for performance.

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace is seeking a Chief Science Technician to join our innovative team from April 2017. Science is an exceptionally successful and high performing department at all key stages. This could be a fantastic opportunity for a science graduate interested in gaining school experience or laboratory skills.

What we are looking for:

  • Someone who is able to manage our team of science technicians, supervising their professional and pastoral welfare
  • At least two years' experience working as a technician in a school or educational establishment
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • A desire to make a difference to the lives of young people

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace opened as Harris CTC in 1990 and converted to an academy in September 2007. The academy is a mixed school for 1,300 students aged 11-18 recruiting students from Croydon, Bromley, Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth. The academy has twice been judged to be outstanding by Ofsted, with the most recent inspection judging the school to be outstanding in every aspect. It is one of the most oversubscribed comprehensive schools in the country, with performance in the top 5% and student progress in the top 3% nationally.
