Job overview

We are seeking to make the following key appointments to our nursery team.

CHILDCARE PRACTITIONER - Salary Grade: G4 – £10.19 per hour

Applications welcomed from candidates looking for Term-Time Only plus 10 or 15 days,

or All Year Round posts (please indicate which on your application)

We are currently looking for an experienced and qualified Early Years practitioner, who has a loving and caring nature to join our friendly and professional team.  The post is 37 hours per week, but we are more than happy to offer flexible working patterns such as part-time, job-share or ad hoc contracts.

The chosen candidate will need to have specific experience working with children aged 0-5 years and be able to assist the Team Leaders and other childcare practitioners across the centre in providing a safe, caring, stimulating environment for the children in our care.

Happy Days is committed to Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment and so will offer a full induction and professional development programme for the chosen candidate. The successful candidate will be required to have a good understanding and working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and be able to carry out the role of a key person within the setting, nurturing, supporting, and developing a group of key children.  A good knowledge of Safeguarding within an early year’s setting will also be required. The candidates must also hold a relevant Early Years Qualification as found on the DFE Early Years Qualification check website (Legal requirement)

We will also ask the successful candidate to complete any of our mandatory training courses that they do not already possess via our e-learning programme prior to their start date with us. These include safeguarding, behaviour management, food hygiene etc.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection described us as an “Outstanding setting” where “Staff provide an exceptional range of high-quality learning experiences for children, both indoors and outdoors. During play, staff demonstrate their outstanding teaching skills through role modelling, guiding, and explaining” and “Partnerships with parents are exemplary and they are involved in children's learning from the start. Staff regularly share information with parents and work highly effectively with them to ensure learning at home informs their individualised planning.”

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the job specification and be subject to an enhanced DBS check.  A prohibition from teaching check will also be completed for all applicants.  Minsthorpe Community College is committed to equality of opportunity and upholding the principles of the Equality Act 2010.  We positively welcome applications from all sections of the community.  Only applications submitted with a completed Minsthorpe Academy Trust Application Form will be considered.
