We welcome ALL children to our school and have high expectations for each and every one of them; our aim being that they leave us as happy, confident, resilient and responsible individuals who are aware of their own worth and understand the valuable contribution that they can and do make.
Whilst we of course seek to ensure children achieve academically, our starting points is always that they feel safe, nurtured and valued and our whole school motto of ‘Care, Challenge and Fun’ underpins all that we do. At Hamer, we keep our values strong and our choices guided by a solid Hamer moral compass.
Our children will always come first at Hamer and it is with this in mind that we are seeking to appoint a dedicated Children’s Welfare Officer to join our team.

- be an integral part of the School Leadership Team (SLT).
· act as lead professional, under the supervision of the Headteacher, SLT and the Governing Board, in all matters relating to Children’s Welfare, including safeguarding and child protection.
- represent and make informed and measured decisions on behalf of the Headteacher on matters relating to child welfare, including those at Child Protection Conferences and meetings, and during Court proceedings.
- provide, or signpost, effective programmes of work for and with children and families within the school.
- manage workloads effectively and efficiently, prioritising and responding to urgent need.
In return, we can offer you:
- the opportunity to be part of a friendly and supportive team of staff, parents and Governors.
