The successful applicant will:

 

• have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;

• hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and

• be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking a qualified Languages teacher who has experience in teaching the Chinese language and culture to primary students from Prep to Year 6. At St Joseph’s we are looking to implement a CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) approach to our Languages learning where our students in Year 5 and 6 engage in learning experiences in another learning area, such as Humanities and Social Sciences and the delivery is through Chinese. In Prep to Year 4 we would like our students to engage in a Chinese language program rich in cultural experiences, stories, play, cooking, movement and music. To be successful in this role you will be able to meet the following criteria: appropriate qualifications and experience, effective communication skills, an ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers, an ability to attend to detail in innovative and creative practices, and a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum.
