We are looking for an outstanding, inspirational and enthusiastic lecturer to join the successful Construction department based at our Pagefield site.

If you are interested in sharing your wealth of experience and qualifications to bring on the next generation into Construction and Civil Engineering then you may well be interested in joining our team.

The department has students at level 2, 3, 4 and 5, the desire is to prepare students and progress to study at BEng level. A high percentage of students are part-time and working in the industry which provides a vibrant learning community.

We are looking for excellent planning, a high level of communication skills, teamwork and organisational skills and be adept at teaching and enthusing 14 - 19-year-old learners and adults. Applicants should have a broad range of industry experience and possess a degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject.

If you are interested in moving into Lecturing from industry or a newly qualified teacher with a passion to pass on your expertise we will offer you the help and support you need to develop the skills and experience to be an inspirational and effective teacher.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
