We are looking for an outstanding, inspirational and enthusiastic lecturer to join the successful Construction Department based at our Pagefield site.  

Applicants will be a qualified teacher, have a broad range of industry experience and possess a degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject. 

You will have excellent planning and organisational skills and be adept at teaching and enthusing 14-19 learners and adults.   A significantly high level of classroom management, communication and IT skills are essential for effective liaison with learners to successfully complete the course.  Applicants should be able to deliver on the majority of the following modules:  

L3 and L4 Science and Materials, L4 Structural and Analysis, L3 Construction in Civil Engineering, L4 Construction Technology, L5 Hydraulics.  

Ability to deliver any of the following modules would also be an advantage: 

•L3 Surveying 

•L3 Maths in Construction 

•L4 Applied Maths 

•L4 Permanent Way Construction (Railways)

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
