Teachers at Elm Academy are expected to be excellent classroom practitioners with strong subject knowledge and a high level of emotional intelligence. He/she will have strong communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with pupils, parents and staff whilst also being able to:

• Contribute to extra-curricular provision offered by the department.

Elm Academy is a 480 PAN - pupil school which is currently two form entry. Elm joined Ambitions Academy Trust in 2017 and educates Boys and Girls aged between 4 and 11. We have a Nursery onsite called Little Ambers for children aged between 3 and 5.

It is our aim that pupils leave Elm Academy as literate, numerate, confident young people with high aspirations, independent learning skills and a sense of moral responsibility and an appetite for future learning.

At Elm Academy, every child is important and deserves success. We will support to provide a safe learning environment and will nurture your children helping them to build high esteem and encouraging them to achieve their full potential. We aim to build close relationships with each child and adults in our school community and recognise that each child is a unique and precious individual.

At Elm Academy the curriculum will be taught with the consideration of the needs of all learners. Our curriculum will be exciting and will inspire children to nurture a passion for learning. The curriculum provides the perfect mix of knowledge, creativity and skills development to promote excellence and enjoyment of learning. We believe that exciting, engaging lessons, adapted individually to each child’s needs are the best way to ensure every child succeeds. Reading, Writing and Maths are taught daily in our school, ensuring that all children develop the core key skills they will need. These core skills are then applied in other subjects, giving children opportunities to refine, practise and master their knowledge in practical and engaging contexts.
