Job overview

We are looking to appoint an additional part-time teacher to provide cover for PPA in our growing school.

You will be joining us at an exciting time for Hill Farm as a new headteacher has taken the helm this term, building upon the wide ranging improvements we have secured over the last three years. In April 2015, we were judged as good in all five categories and in February 2016, we were recognised as a local winner in the National Pupil Premium Awards. We are very proud of our dedicated and caring staff team; hard-working and well-behaved children; vibrant learning environment and supportive parents and carers. We are committed to ensuring that children of all abilities and backgrounds achieve their very best in everything they do. We are also committed to growing the talent in all our staff, enabling them to flourish and succeed.

You would be responsible for PPA cover provision in early years. This is a fantastic opportunity for a flexible, team player with excellent communication skills to join our friendly team. Initially the opportunity is for two days per week, which is likely to include a Monday, and there may well be scope for additional sessions going forward.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is a good or better classroom practitioner with a love of teaching and an enthusiasm for ensuring that every child achieves their full potential;
  • Is passionate about children’s learning, with a proven track record of raising attainment and accelerating progress;
  • Is caring and approachable;
  • Is enthusiastic and works well as part of a team;
  • Has the drive and ambition to go the extra mile to make great things happen for the children of Hill Farm.

As a large, three form entry primary school working as part of a Multi-Academy Trust and Teaching School Alliance, we can offer:

  • Access to a wide range of additional CPD and career development opportunities:
  • A supportive, friendly and hardworking staff team who are united in their drive to achieve the very best outcomes for every child;
  • Friendly, happy and well-behaved children who are keen and eager to learn.

If you are looking for a rewarding role where you can really make a difference, then come and see us in action and find out more about what this post has to offer.

Visits and applications: Visits to the school prior to application are strongly encouraged and will be warmly welcomed. The headteacher, Mike Wills, would be delighted to meet you and talk about the opportunity, please email HumanResources@caludoncastle.co.uk  to book onto one of the following tours:

Hill Farm is an increasingly popular, large three form entry primary school and Nursery in the North West of Coventry.

We are passionate about our children having access to teaching and learning experiences of the highest quality in all areas and at all ages. Our curriculum is relevant, challenging and engaging and our children love to learn. Behaviour at our school is very good and parents/carers are supportive of all that we do.

In September 2013, Hill Farm converted to sponsored academy status as part of the Castle Phoenix Multi-Academy Trust, the lead school of which is Caludon Castle Secondary School in Wyken, Coventry. Being part of this Trust gives us unrivalled opportunities to work in partnership with a secondary school and share best practice. As a strategic partner in the Castle Phoenix Teaching School Alliance, we also have access to a wide range of training and professional development opportunities.  Our children are also able to benefit from making use of some of Caludon Castle’s specialist facilities to enhance curriculum provision.

In April 2015, Ofsted judged Hill Farm to be good in all five categories. In particular, they highlighted the good teaching and strong leadership, noting that “Teachers have high expectations of pupils’ work and plan interesting activities which engage and enthuse them”.

We are extremely proud of this outcome and it has given us a positive momentum to move forward and continue to build on our many strengths.

We feel that Hill Farm is an exciting and vibrant place for children to learn and grow.  Our overall aim is to improve the school so that we are seen as one of the best schools in Coventry. This will be because:

  • Our children will achieve personal excellence in their learning.
  • Our children will develop as happy, confident, independent learners who enjoy coming to school and thrive personally, socially and emotionally as a result of our high quality provision.
  • Our parents and carers will be an integral part of the school and their child’s learning.
  • Our friendly, welcoming and inclusive ethos will ensure that our school sits at the heart of the community.
