Class Teacher
St Crispin's Special School

Salary: £27,498 - £41,412
Hours: 35 per week

St Crispin’s is a non-denominational special school for primary and secondary pupils. This year we have four secondary and five primary classes. The school meets the needs of learners with complex, long term additional support needs who require a significantly modified learning environment. The needs of learners are primarily associated with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

There are nine classrooms, a gym/dining hall, rooms for art and music, a swimming pool, soft play, a small library, one small interaction/play room and a sensory room. There is an outdoor adventure playground and two garden areas.

Currently located in Watertoun Road, there are plans for a new St Crispin's School to be located in the south of the city, opening in 2021.

It is desirable that applicants should have experience working with children with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

We have a vacancy for a full time permanent class teacher to start August 2020.

For more information about the school please visit our website www.st-crispins.edin.sch.uk or call 0131 667 4831.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
